Single Sailing Holidays

Single Sailing Holidays

Explore Greece on Fabulous Single Sailing Holidays

Single sailing holidays do not need to be boring and a person does not need to be with a group of their family and friends in order to have a wonderful time. A sailing trip in Greece is actually the perfect holiday for singles over 30 years old, because they are mature enough to realize that the downtime that they will experience on the boat is just what they need during this time.

This is not to say that a person will spend every minute on the boat doing absolutely nothing, because there is a lot to see and explore within the country of Greece. Athens is a big city and during the day, visitors are busy seeing many museums and historical sites like the Acropolis Museum, Acropolis, the Temple of Hephaestus and the Parthenon. Inside the Acropolis Museum, a person will find many relics from earlier temples and settlements in the area. The Temple of Hephaestus is located on top of Agoraios Kolonos Hill and it is one of the ancient temples that has been preserved the best. At one point in time, it was turned into a Christian Church so it is the perfect place to worship at any time of the year.

A person who is on a singles vacation will want to take advantage of the peace and solitude that can be found at the Acropolis, which is the best sanctuary from ancient Athens. Every monument at Acropolis stands in the natural setting where it was originally built. The Parthenon is one of these monuments and while it has been damaged over the years, current restoration projects have been planned to restore it to its original beauty.

One of the best things about single sailing holidays is that a person can head to a beach quite easily from their boat. When sailing in Greece, everyone will want to take some time to visit Elafonisi Beach. This beach is the most majestic one in the entire world and visitors will love the scenery of cedar trees, white lilies, black rocks and the dunes in the background. Most of the sand at the beach is white, but in certain areas it looks pink because of all of the broken seashells that are mixed in. As people are walking along the beach and swimming in the water, there is a chance that they could spot a few of the rare animals and birds that live near the beach.

While on single sailing holidays in Greece, people can explore the country easily and still have time to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities. There is nothing better than waking up to an amazing sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea or eating dinner on the deck of the boat as the sun is setting in the background. Single sailing holidays can be special in their own unique way and each person can choose what will be best for them during their time on the boat.

After a night on my boat, my next stop in the Bahamas was Nassau. While I am not big on jewelry, I do enjoy walking along the streets and window shopping with everyone else. The shops are definitely unique and the straw market has quite a few interesting souvenirs. After I did some shopping, I went over to Atlantis, so that I could explore the casino. It is breathtaking in so many ways, but after a while I knew that I needed the downtime and peacefulness of my boat.

Before I left the Bahamas, I wanted to make a stop at Freeport. The Lucayan National Park is located close by and I wanted to explore the two open caves that were part of the largest underwater cave system in the world. I took a picnic lunch to enjoy while walking along the nature trails inside the park and since this was my last day of my Solo Sailing Holidays, I was feeling a little nostalgic.

I had enjoyed my single sailing holiday much more than any of my previous ones and I am eagerly planning my next one. The only trouble I am having is whether I want to sail somewhere new and exciting or go back to one of the places I have been to before and loved.

I would love if it is possible to join a group on a sailing boat in Corfu in and around the 26th of May. I am in my 60’s but I am agile
