The Best Times for Sailing Holidays in the Caribbean

The Best Times for Sailing Holidays in the Caribbean

The Caribbean is everyone’s dream destination due to the warm temperatures, miles of sandy beaches, and the bluest of blue water. Most people would love to go on sailing holidays in the Caribbean every chance that they could, but there are certain times of the year that are better than others.

Here are three things that people should consider when choosing the best time for sailing holidays in the Caribbean:

Weather

Yes, the weather is always warm, if not hot in the Caribbean. And yes, the sun is almost always shining. However, this area has a rainy season that runs from May through December and there is a good chance that a person will be rained on at least one day of their sailing holidays during these months. The other months of the year almost always promise a bright shining sun each and every day.

Hurricane Season

Hurricanes could be considered part of the weather, but these storms can be so detrimental that they need their own category. The Caribbean is famous for getting walloped with hurricanes during the season, which runs from the first of June through the last day of November every year. Most sailing holidays are booked well in advance, and while a hurricane can end up canceling one, it is not likely that it will happen. Instead, the sailing route may change direction to areas that are safer while the storm is surging through.

Peak and Non-Peak Times

Some people do not mind traveling when it seems like everyone else in the world is doing the same thing. However, other people want some peace and quiet along with the fewest number of people. Therefore, the best times to venture out on sailing holidays in the Caribbean is any time other than the summer, spring break, and Christmas. Those three times are the busiest in the Caribbean, while the rest of the year offers a little less hustle and bustle.

There are many other factors that some people will want to consider when venturing out on sailing holidays in the Caribbean, but these are the major ones. As with any type of vacation, people will need to keep an open mind and have some patience when participating in sailing holidays anywhere in the world.

The good news is that whatever happens during sailing holidays, the people that take them still have a fantastic time even when plans need to change at a moment’s notice.
